Completing either The Evil Within, its DLCs, or The Evil Within 2 for the first time, on certain difficulties or meeting certain requirements will grant several unlockables. These can either be new weapons, costumes, extra resources or miscellaneous quality-of-life settings.
New difficulties & New Game+[]
Alternatively, one can start a New Game+ with all upgrade and collectible progress retained, allowing them to mop up remaining achievements or to simply have fun over the additional benefits given to them. New Game+ can be started from the beginning, or via Chapter select.
Players are additionally awarded 50,000 for completing a new playthrough and can access this reward when they first gain proper access to the upgrade chair.
Completing either The Assignment or The Consequence instead unlocks the KURAYAMI difficulty. New Game+ playthroughs for these DLCs only carry over collectible progress and the Chapter selection is not available.
Model Viewer[]
Completing the game and DLCs for the first time grants access to the Model Viewer function on their respective main menus, where one can browse dioramas of various characters, creatures and bosses in the story and read up additional information about them.
Weapons[]
Beating the main game on any given mode unlocks the Rocket Launcher and Machine Gun weapons to use on a New Game+ save. Additionally, collecting all 28 Map Fragments also unlock the Burst Handgun and High-Penetration Sniper Rifle, and beating the game on either Nightmare or AKUMU mode unlocks the Brass Knuckles for Sebastian's own use.
These will be deposited into Sebastian's inventory at the start of Chapter 3: Claws of the Horde.
Nightmare, Classic & New Game+[]
Beating the game once on either Casual or Survival difficulty unlocks the harder modes Nightmare and Classic, which can be started on a new playthrough.

Players are additionally awarded 80,000 for completing a new playthrough and can access this reward when they first gain proper access to the upgrade chair.
Letterbox Mode[]
Completing the game for the first time unlocks the Letterboxing setting in the Options menu that can be toggled on to replicate the first game's aspect ratio and unlock an achievement.
Outfits[]
Completing The Evil Within 2 on certain difficulty settings unlocks several outfit choices for Sebastian, which can be changed by interacting with the coat rack in his office during any playthrough.
Outfit changes are currently unavailable on Classic mode.
- Survivor: Unlocked by default
- Drifter: Unlocked by clearing Casual difficulty
- Professional: Unlocked by clearing Survival difficulty
- Classic: Unlocked by clearing all three Anima encounters in a single playthrough.
Completing the game on a higher difficulty setting will also unlock the outfit(s) of the easier modes. Beating the game on either Nightmare or Classic will unlock every costume.
Weapons[]
Beating the game on any given mode unlocks the Magnum to use on a New Game+ save. Additionally, completing the game on either Nightmare or Classic mode unlocks the Brass Knuckles for Sebastian's own use.
These will be deposited into Sebastian's inventory at the end of Chapter 2: Something Not Quite Right.
Infinite Ammo[]
Clearing the game on Classic difficulty and starting a New Game+ from that save unlocks the option for having Infinite Ammo for any of Sebastian's weapons. This disables reloading and the ammo counter entirely, allowing for unlimited use of any weapon.
Infinite Ammo can be toggled on and off from the weapons selection screen by pressing (default) F on PC, Y on Xbox One and Triangle on PlayStation 4.Unlockables/TEW1E
