The Evil Within Comics are episodic stories set in the same universe as the video game series told through graphic novels.
There are currently two sub-series of comics; The Evil Within, a story revolving around college student Dana Robinson, which also coincides with the events of the first game, and a second volume titled The Interlude, telling of Sebastian's escapades leading up to The Evil Within 2.
The Evil Within (comic)
A story set before the first game, The Evil Within revolves around college student Dana Robinson, a resident of Pine Lakes, located on the west coast, the opposite side of the country to Krimson City.
Dana is going for a drive one night in a storm, heading back to town when her car mysteriously runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere, and her cell phone reception is dead. She trudges over to a nearby diner and meets a man named Paul Carey, who accompanies her throughout the series, unspeakable horrors quickly ensuing.
The series is four episodic chapters long ("From Blood", "Ghost Town", "To the Slaughter", and "Hideous Headgames"), totalling up to about 125-130 pages. Throughout the series, Dana is constantly searching for her best friend, Kate Mellor, who mysteriously disappeared in the real world under unknown circumstances. Dana swears that she can see her in the distance or out of the corner of her eye at the worst of times, but she has always vanished by the time Dana can look steadily in said direction. Several characters of the games make appearances, both friend and foe, in addition to the brand new cast introduced.
Centering around Sebastian Castellanos once again, The Interlude is set not long after the happenings of the first game, delving into the events leading up to The Evil Within 2.
During the events of The Interlude, Sebastian has fallen on hard times since his escape from STEM, seeing a therapist, and living in an apartment with his lighthearted and oftentimes placid new partner, Tobias. One night when out for a walk, Sebastian is nearly run over by a speeding car, and is spontaneously and dizzily approached by his longtime-missing wife,Myra Hanson, who embraces him as he stumbles off the road.
Myra explains to Sebastian the circumstances of their missing daughter and how she's been taken, and looks him in the eyes, telling him that they need to find her, though Sebastian seems confused, briefly detaching from reality, quickly realizing that Myra was never there at all, and his daughter is actually (to his knowledge) gone.
As Sebastian becomes embroiled into a chilling mystery, he learns of Myra's reasons for disappearing, along with more about the conspiracy of MOBIUS, all while searching for their daughter, and pursuing the mysterious Nursery Rhyme Killer. The series is two issues long, each about 65 pages or so.
