Laura's status[]

According to a newsitem in the Krimson Post, Laura didnĀ“t die in the fire but is badly burned and left in a vegetative state.

The article can be read in a walktrough on youtube in the link below

Ruvik mentions that she is dead, therefore this is unlikely. RainingPain17 (talk) 17:36, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
Ruvik was completely in the dark about Laura's condition. He was secluded in the basement, thus unaware. His father Ernesto told Ruvik she was dead, but Ernesto also told Ruvik's mother that both children were dead (which is a lie). Ruvik thought she was dead, because who could survive the fire that left him so ruined? The papers mentioning Laura seem to be a better resource that intentional lies spoken in the game.
Hey, guys. It's come to my attention that there's still a bit of a dispute regarding her status. Now, people who think she's alive refer to an in game newspaper article saying she survived the fire. There is no question about that. She definitely survived the fire at the estate. (Newspaper Article )
HOWEVER, in addition to that, the in-game model viewers (they are canon because they came from the actual game just like the newspapers, not the artbook) mentions that she was 17 at the time of death. (Laura's Model Viewer )
So what does this mean? She survived the fire, yes. Definitely. But only to die later while she was still 17. There is no canon given reason for her death. But the game does explicitly say she is dead (the model viewer says so) at age 17. Not from the fire. But she died somehow. We can only speculate how she actually died, but it's not so suprising given she was burned from head to toe and left in a vegetative state. It's a logical conclusion from the facts given to us by the game.

So long story short, the game told us she survived the fire, but died eventually (not immidiately, hence why Ruvik did mention he knows she was alive after the fire) at the age of 17. If I am missing ANY articles or confirmation from the game creators that said she was alive and that the Model Viewer was wrong, please tell me? And if you have any other supporting evidence that says she's still alive, feel free to discuss. 20:27, November 24, 2016 (UTC)SillyPotato (talk)
I don't know why this is even up for debate. There is no contradictory information derived from the Model Viewer and while Laura may have initially survived the fire, it's not out of the realm of possibility that she could have died well within the same year. The fact that confirmation of her death only comes after you finish the game is also a crucial bit of information that tells the player exactly what happened to her after her survival from the fire. There are no "lies" to be had here, the Model Viewer is as canon as it gets given how it's in-game files are only truly unlocked post-completion of the story. Also considering how the vast majority of confirmed information are directly sourced from the Model Viewer, it's best to just stick to what the game actually says instead of deviating from the given information based on what essentially amounts to speculation. Also I reformatted the entire talk page so it's actually easier to read, so please make sure to follow suit when replying to this topic. Also please sign your messages with a timestamp, it makes it easier to keep track of who's actually talking. --DementedP (talk) 00:11, November 25, 2016 (UTC)
